Last week, Congress passed the Mercury Market Minimization Act, a bill that will protect Americans and people around the world from mercury poisoning by banning the export of elemental mercury, a neurotoxin that is dangerous for pregnant women and young children.Currently, mercury is exported to developing countries for use in highly polluting industries like mining.
