San Carlos-based Tesla, maker of a $109K electric sports car, has won $350M in low-interest loans to develop a $57,499 four-door sedan and $100M to expand a drive train business that sells parts to other automakers. The loans come courtesy of the US Department of Energy, which also gave Ford a $5.9B loan.
